Telford HamFest > Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge

Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge

When you take Jiggers Bank on the way down to the Hamfest you can feel that you are travelling back in time to an age around the Industrial Revolution. The whole area was called Coalbrookdale until the Iron Bridge was built in 1779.

If you miss the turning for Enginuity you will go past two pubs on opposite sides of the road.

The Coalbrookdale Inn is the pub on your left. A past CAMRA pub of the year with a newly developed restaurant presided over by Dawn and Danny. The bar serves seven real ales that are in regular rotation. There is a bar menu and also a non smoking Restaurant, whichever you choose, the food is all freshly prepared to order.

The Fat Frog is on the opposite side of the road to the Dale Inn, presided over by Johnny Coleau and Gaye Pope. It boasts not only a bar but also a Restaurant and Bistro serving Traditional and French dishes. Rooms are available in the Hotel in what is a central location to all the local attractions.

Opposite the turning off from Jiggers Bank there are several walks that will take you up the Bank and through the woods.
